Welcome to Year 1!
Teacher: Ms Francesca Pegg
Learning Support Assistant: Ms Lima Ali
Teaching Assistant: Mrs Ayesha Uddin (PM)
Next week we will be holding a Zoom meeting online for Year 1 to meet their new teacher. This will give children the opportunity to meet and find out more about their teacher and ask any questions they may have.
It is really important for your child to attend this meeting. The office has emailed out details of how to attend this meeting. If you have not received these details, please call the office to get them.
Next week, our Story Time Zoom is also going to include some games. This will be last time I will be altogether with them as a class so I hope you can join us. Details are being sent out this week. If you have not received them by Monday 13th please email me: firstname.lastname@example.org
Please make sure to visit the Parents page on the website to get the latest information on the School Reopening Plan and Risk Assessment.
If you need to contact me about any queries connected with learning you can do so on my email email@example.com. I will be available from 8.30-4.30. If you email after these hours, I will seek to reply to your email the following day.
Please look at the Year 1 class page on the website regularly as learning will be updated weekly on a Monday morning. Answers to questions in Maths will be uploaded every Friday and other subjects where possible so children can mark their work.
If you are doing any other types of learning please still keep me updated so that I can provide guidance. Don't worry if you cannot send photos to my email, a short message is very welcome too. I also enjoy hearing about your other activities so please keep in touch at least once a week.
Finally, I would like to say a huge thank you in advance for the support you are going to give during these challenging times. I want to reassure you that I am at the end of an email to offer support and advice to both children and parents.
The illustrator of The Gruffalo, Axel Scheffler has produced a digital book for primary age children, free for anyone to read on screen or print out, about the coronavirus and the measures taken to control it. He has had advice from medical professionals, head teachers and a child psychologist. The book answers key questions in simple language appropriate for 5 to 9-year olds. It allows children and families to have access to good and reliable information, and the familiarity of the pictures will hopefully be reassuring for the many children who have read the picture books. Stay safe and well, Ms Pegg 😊
