• World Mental Health Day #HELLO YELLOW

  Hello Yellow, to mark World Mental Health Day, was a wonderful success on Tuesday 10^th October. It was brilliant to see so many children wear yellow to show up and speak out for mental health.

  We held a special collective worship where we learnt about the importance of not only our physical health but our mental health also. This was followed by looking at ways we could promote our mental health. 

  In class we continued this work by looking at our feelings, their importance, and who we can reach out to for help.

  We held a Coffee Morning for Parents and Carers where we were joined by Isaac from the charity MIND. Isaac was able to talk through how we promote mental health in children and describe how MIND can support the school to promote mental health and wellbeing.

  To finish the day, everyone received a balloon and transferred any worries they had into the balloon before letting it go and saying goodbye to those worries. This was a highlight of the day and hopefully will stay with all of us as a reminder of letting go of things we don't need to hold onto.

  

• International Evening

  On Tuesday 3rd October, we held our first International Evening since COVID.

  The hall was strewn with bunting and flags from different countries and in the background we had a specially devised playlist representing the different countries our families are from.

  We had six huge tables full of glorious food which our parents made and brought. Lots of the tables were decorated with beautiful items from our families' homes.

  The turnout of families exceeded our expectations. It was so lovely to be able to spend time together: eating, conversing and sharing.

  We must say a huge thank you to all the parents who contributed their time and effort to making International Evening such a success.

  It was a truly wonderful occasion.
