The aim of our curriculum is to build the knowledge, skills and attitudes pupils need to become informed, articulate and empowered. The Design Technology curriculum builds pupils knowledge and technical skills through an inspiring, practical subject.
Pupils design and make a range of products considering function and aesthetics. They learn to plan, evaluate, adapt and improve products considering their own and others requirements.
Design and technology projects help children to develop transferable skills such as innovation, resilience, reasoning, critical curiosity and problem solving. Our design and technology curriculum has also been designed to link to the humanities or science content so that children can make connections between subjects.
As part of design and technology, children also learn about nutrition and cookery, preparing a range of foods reflecting different cultures and dietary requirements.
